Overview
NRS ADA Series bleachers build wheelchair seating areas with companion seats into an all-aluminum bleacher so schools, parks, and sports facilities can meet ADA accessibility requirements. This series carries a vertical picket guardrail around the elevated rows.
Twelve models cover 5, 8, and 10 row heights in 15 to 27 foot lengths, seating 34 to 128 spectators plus 2 or 4 wheelchair spaces per unit, each with companion seating. A vertical aisle with handrail serves the upper rows.
NRS points to four planning guidelines for ADA bleachers: quantity, where the number of wheelchair spaces follows the ADA chart for the seating capacity; location, with wheelchair spaces an integral part of the seating plan; access, with every space on an accessible route; and sightlines, with spaces dispersed so viewing angles match the rest of the audience.
